We are 2

We are 2, it is our 2nd birthday, hooray!

The time has flown by. We’ve been creating video content for lots of interesting people. Lots of miles traveling up and down the country to get to some great destinations. Planning calls, zoom chats, travelling to film shoots, overnight stays, early starts, late finishes, long drives back into the night. We’ve flown the drone in cities and in the country. We’ve had rain and we’ve had sun. But it has all been worth it.

Roll on the next 2 years!

Half term happenings

We were down in Staines this week filming at The Matthew Arnold School. During holidays, such as the current half term, they need to fill up the sports facilities with paying customers, and to help them do this they use the online platform www.Bookteq.com It was half term so the facilities were busy with activities from kids clubs through to football matches.

Plenty of outdoor space allowed us to capture some nice drone pictures, as well as getting some great video recorded by the team. Great to see a technology provider delivering a business solution for schools, colleges and clubs. Bravo!!

Where are you from?

When we are somewhere else in the country filming corporate videos, we often get asked about Leeds. So here are a few fun facts to those who don’t know the city.

In 1984, during the building of the Armley Gyratory road, the bones of an ancient hippo were discovered. It is believed to date back around 130,000. You can see the remains at Leeds City Museum.

Leeds has given the world a host of literary giants. Alan Bennett is perhaps the most well-known, with ‘Talking Heads’ a cornerstone of British playwriting. Barbara Taylor Bradford sold over 30 million copies of ‘A Woman of Substance’. Tony Harrison wrote poems like ‘V’ and Arthur Ransome penned ‘Swallows and Amazons’ right here in Leeds.

The famous Leeds West Indian Carnival has been running longer than any other in Europe (even longer than Notting Hill Carnival). It started in 1967 and it’s still going strong today. It happens on August bank holiday weekend.

Leeds United were the first club to retail replica shirts. This happened back in 1975 when they bought extra kits to sell to their fans.
The kit was an all white shirt based on the design of Real Madrid.

The first British internet service provider was founded in Leeds. Back then it was called Freeserve. It was bought by a French Telecom firm called Wannadoo for £1.65 billion. Then in 2004, Freeserve was rebranded as Wannadoo UK. Today, it is known as EE’s broadband service.

Video drone work

Drones are a common site, but you have to be careful not to fall foul of the law. LVP have been flying drones professionally for over 4 years.

Houses, factories and other commercial buildings can be difficult to see from the ground, so we assist businesses with our qualified and insured drone service. This particular job was to help the client find the source of a roof leak.

Filming video in 4K the camera picks up all the detail needed for an initial assessment. The pictures and video can be shared with specialists prior to visiting to give them a head start on problem solving. There are many regulations about flying drones and doing so safely. No commercial work can be undertaken by anyone without insurance so make sure you ask this question.

Drone filming can bring something cinematic to a corporate video, although you have to get u early or stay light to get the best light.

Creating Great Content

Many businesses who are successful online take an active approach to creating content. If you are spending time and money on an event, an initiative or a campaign, it will be more effective by adding video. Your efforts will get more engagement, people will be more interested and you will get more response. Supplement what you create internally with a master look and feel to pull it all together and raise the production value. Cinematic drone shots of your building, some key interviews, some nice graphics and you can add a professional layer to your idea.  Animation and 3-D graphics are also an option for your video production. It is quick and easy to create great content, and you can do more than just a corporate video.

Leeds Video Production

Learning to fly

Very excited to have been working with Ackworth School. A wonderful establishment in gorgeous surroundings. We have been tasked with a video production that shows what a wonderful place of learning it is. Proudly illustrating its strong values and mission. Lovely aerial shots from the drone of the playing fields and iconic buildings. A great project to edit.

Brum!

Today we are on assignment at a Grammar school in Birmingham, so it is video production ‘on the road’. Our last two locations have been at schools capturing promotional video. Filming at schools is always a fun challenge, especially when there is so much going on. Primary school, junior school, senior school, boarders, sports, lessons, drama and music productions, there is a lot to tell people about. We mix drone filming with handheld cameras, with a variety of super slow mo, action shots and interviews to create great content. Schools often have alumni and Linked In groups to let ex-students know what is going on as well as prospective new pupil and parent information to distribute. It is always great to see our work help promote schools and get them a lot of viewers.

Videos for landlords and agencies

Delighted to be working with excellent lettings agents like Lets Live Leeds  to promote their properties. We film house videos (with or without drone camera footage), virtual tours using platforms like Matterport and even location videos. Our video production service helps tenants, buyers, landlords and estate agents to have a speedy and fruitful relationship.

Back in the swing

Great to be out filming some sport. We made the trip to North London to film at the Girls’ Amateur event at Sandy Lane Golf Club. Weather thwarted day one, but day two and three look set to be exciting. 18 holes on day two followed by 36 holes on day three. Delighted to provide same day edited clips and video production. We will feed clips for Facebook, You Tube and Twitter for our client.
