Back in training

Great to be out reuniting with some old friends on a shoot last week. We were over in Lancashire for a spell in a training barn to capture some football action. It is a big year for football with the FIFA World Cup (www.fifa.com) coming up in November and December, so busy helping clients get their content filmed.

We tried a couple of set-piece moves but left it mostly to the professionals.

We are 2

We are 2, it is our 2nd birthday, hooray!

The time has flown by. We’ve been creating video content for lots of interesting people. Lots of miles traveling up and down the country to get to some great destinations. Planning calls, zoom chats, travelling to film shoots, overnight stays, early starts, late finishes, long drives back into the night. We’ve flown the drone in cities and in the country. We’ve had rain and we’ve had sun. But it has all been worth it.

Roll on the next 2 years!

9 reasons to use video

We recently saw a post from stating that over 50% of people watch a video before buying a product, here are a few other reasons businesses need to use video:

  • By the end of 2022, online videos will make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic — 15 times higher than it was in 2017 (Cisco).
  • 78% of people watch online videos every week, and 55% view online videos every day. In fact, that 54% of consumers want to see more video content this year (Social Media Week)
  • 54% of consumers want to see more video content from a brand or business they support (HubSpot, 2018)
  • 72% of customers said they would rather learn about a product or service by way of video. In fact, 84% of people say they’ve been convinced to buy a product or service by watching a brand’s video (Optinmonster).
  • 86% of businesses use video as a marketing tool — up from 63% over the last three years (Wyzowl).
  • Marketers who use video grow revenue 49% faster than non-video users (WordStream)
  • 59% (of executives) agree that if both text and video are available on the same topic, they are more likely to choose video. In fact,92% of mobile video consumers share videos with others. Half term happenings

We were down in Staines this week filming at The Matthew Arnold School. During holidays, such as the current half term, they need to fill up the sports facilities with paying customers, and to help them do this they use the online platform www.Bookteq.com It was half term so the facilities were busy with activities from kids clubs through to football matches.

Plenty of outdoor space allowed us to capture some nice drone pictures, as well as getting some great video recorded by the team. Great to see a technology provider delivering a business solution for schools, colleges and clubs. Bravo!!

Word Up!

When we put together your video content there are a couple of options around words.

Many videos are edited together by asking people a series of open questions. This gives us answers that we can edit to create the content you want. This method usually keeps the interviewee more relaxed. This is important if you want people to look and sound natural. Sometimes you end up with even better answers than you were expecting.

Another way is a more structured style where you write the words you want said in advance and we can use an autocue when filming. If you need to cover off specific information in a corporate video, this is a great way to make sure that nothing gets missed. The person speaking needs to practice in advance of filming as autocue apps have lots of settings that determine the pace.

Lastly don’t forget to consider graphics. Whether they are fixed or motion, 2D or 3D, graphics are a great way to present ideas in a way that supports the message you want to convey. Any questions please ask….

Learning to fly

Very excited to have been working with Ackworth School. A wonderful establishment in gorgeous surroundings. We have been tasked with a video production that shows what a wonderful place of learning it is. Proudly illustrating its strong values and mission. Lovely aerial shots from the drone of the playing fields and iconic buildings. A great project to edit.

Brum!

Today we are on assignment at a Grammar school in Birmingham, so it is video production ‘on the road’. Our last two locations have been at schools capturing promotional video. Filming at schools is always a fun challenge, especially when there is so much going on. Primary school, junior school, senior school, boarders, sports, lessons, drama and music productions, there is a lot to tell people about. We mix drone filming with handheld cameras, with a variety of super slow mo, action shots and interviews to create great content. Schools often have alumni and Linked In groups to let ex-students know what is going on as well as prospective new pupil and parent information to distribute. It is always great to see our work help promote schools and get them a lot of viewers.
